Jonathan Hook, the principal of WAO Properties, LLC (“WAO”), began investing in multi- family real estate in 2015. In a short time, he has amalgamated resources with strategic partners in an effort to develop a comprehensive portfolio of real estate assets and WAO and its principals have purchased more than 10 buildings and a village community comprising more than 1,000 multi-family units in Maryland, Connecticut, and New Jersey.
Implementing their core strategies of identifying structural sound properties in strong rental markets that have tremendous upside potential when focused and responsible management takes the helm, Jon and his team have been able to stabilize the properties they purchased, while aggressively seeking to complement their portfolio with a like-minded approach.
WAO was formed with the philosophy that property management should be much more than typical managerial services. A management company must go above-and-beyond and act as if they are the owners – every decision must be thoughtfully considered, diligently effectuated, with appropriate follow-through. In implementing their investment value-add strategy, Jon came to the quick conclusion that typical management houses would never manage their properties with the attention and alacrity necessary to ensure that the properties would thrive – thus, WAO (We Are Owners) Properties was born.
In addition to those core values and competencies, Jon has been able to leverage his experience and aptitude as a distressed real estate attorney at large law firms in NYC for more than 15 years. The skill set he developed allowed him to identify value-add opportunities and come in as a “white-knight” and rescue several poorly-run/distressed properties.
Our extensive real estate investment and management experience across all asset classes, coupled with our ability to identify prime income-generating opportunities, while identifying “outside-of-the-box” value-add strategies, has ensured outstanding returns and has allowed us to the provide the highest quality management on behalf of our investors (and ourselves) to tenants.
